These are the first words of the Kirk Franklin song, “I Smile”. If you don’t know the song, it’s about pushing through tough times. Today, I’m smiling.
I’m happy because I am making decisions about what I want to do in my life, both health-wise and business-wise. On the health front, I am re-dedicating myself to getting healthier. For the last several weeks, I’ve been volunteering in the evenings and using it as an excuse to not take care of me. Well, this is winding down and I am now going to work on balancing the two. So, back to better food choices and regular exercise.
On the business front, I let another blog I was working on take me away from this one (well, actually, I used it as an excuse and a way to hide from the realities of me falling back into bad habits). I am now going to give this blog, and some related ventures, the attention they deserve. If I am to be totally honest, I’d have to say that was working in opposite directions on this stuff. What I mean is that I was trying to do something that, while it was somewhat interesting, it wasn’t fulfilling me or helping anyone in a meaningful way. However, health is very personal. Helping myself and others, even in my own little way, sounds way more rewarding.
Here’s to a new day! Let it be a new day for you, too.
