Late-night munchies

470Views

I have a piece of advice to anyone fighting this weight battle — go to bed!

My wife can attest to the fact that I stay up entirely too late.  Often, I am not really doing anything of importance.  Typically, I am online or tinkering with some computer program but, rarely do I have something critical that requires me to be up until 1am or so.  I get sidetracked and, instead of hitting the sack at 10:30 or 11:00 p.m., I find myself staring at a computer monitor at 12:30 a.m. and asking “what am I doing?”

In my case, late nights bring late-night temptations.  It can be innocent enough — maybe a handful of grapes.  But, I’ve also been know to heat up some leftover fried chicken at 10:30 (hey, don’t judge me, lol).  Ice cream is also another good one.  Chocolate chip cookies also taste pretty good after 11:30.

I know better.  I’ve read how a lack of sleep actually changes your appetite (hormonal imbalance), making you more hungry, even when your body doesn’t need food.  But, silly me, I fight the one thing that would help with all this — sleep.

So, this time, take it lying down.  Try getting a good night’s sleep, 7 hours or so, to help with your weight loss.  It may do wonders.
