Now, I don’t want to jump the gun but, I did see something that piqued my interest. I came across an article on Yahoo! that talked about a trend in diet foods that allows for larger portions with lower calories. Now, the first thing that bothered me was the notion of “diet” foods. In my experience, this has meant something field with artificial sweeteners or some strange compound that seems to require a chemistry degree to decipher. But, in looking deeper, one thing they mentioned showed potential promise to me.
One product line the article mentioned as Arctic Zero. According to their claims, their ice cream comes in at 150 calories a pint. Yes, a pint. Also, they say that it’s all natural, gluten-free, fat-free, high-fiber and good for those who are lactose-intolerant.
I see that they have flavors such as Cookies n’ Cream, Pumpkin, Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Coffee.
Also, they have ice cream bars (85 calorie each) in more “regular” flavors ( Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry and Orange).
What the heck, I’ll spend a few buck to give it a try. If it works out, I may have a good alternative to get my ice cream fix.
