Back to the routine

Right now, I feel like a junkie trying to kick a bad habit.  My mind and body are still in vacation mode.  For dinner last night, I ate half a boxed pizza, a salad and a 20-ounce Coke.  Later, I had a Weight Watchers ice cream bar (like that made it better, right?).

This morning, I had a slice of french toast with strawberry glaze topping, two sausage links and a medium coffee.

In other words, I am not back to better eating yet.

So, I have two options — I either go cold turkey or slowly wean myself off the bad food.  I think that I’m going to try the cold turkey route.  I’m back to my workout routine tonight so, I am hoping this will help.

Oh, wait, it’s Labor Day weekend, isn’t it?  The last hurrah for summer.  Okay, let’s reevaluate my recent position.  I’m going to slow it down.  Just because it’s a holiday doesn’t mean it has to revolve around food.  This also means that I can get out and enjoy life, too.  There are outdoor games to be played and work that I need to do to get prepared for the fall.  I’ll get in a few goodies but, that doesn’t mean that I can’t work back to my routine.

Well, the vacation’s over.  Welcome home, body.  We got work to do.
