Okay, the last week was a blur. So much so that I nearly abandoned my challenge. After hanging out and eating (not horribly) with friends, I went on a binge. I ate so much crap that I actually shocked myself. There was pizza, ice cream, sodas, fried seafood, etc. The point is, at the end of it all, I felt like an addict having hit rock-bottom.
So, I feel the time is near — the time where the line in the sand gets drawn.
When you get the be a man in his 40’s, your eating habits can become an issue of life and death. So, you either make a decision or it gets made for you, eventually. I prefer the former over the latter.
So, it’s time focus, again. I skipped by daily trip down to the cafeteria. I brought breakfast AND lunch, instead. I skipped the sodas and had water. I took my vitamins and had fruit for a snack. Yes, it’s only one day but, habits start somewhere.
The challenge is still on and, today, I am feeling better about it than I have in a week. Now, I just need the action and the will to match my desire to be healthier. When the mind and the body finally meet up, I’ll really be on my way!
