Okay, I had to get real with myself. Lately, I have been eating pork bacon for breakfast. The truth is, I don’t even like pork bacon — it’s just convenient to get at the cafeteria at my job. But, it’s salty as hell! So, yesterday, that was it — out with pork bacon. Also, lunch was mostly fruit. But, you know, dinner is still the challenge for me.
I worked late and my wife has been commuting to a training class for the last two weeks so, I went and got dinner. What was for dinner? RIBS! I love ribs!
But, alas, I had to take a more sensible approach to dinner. Instead of the full slab, I ordered myself a half slab, baked potato, baked beans and a dinner roll. Before I ate the ribs, I had the baked potato (with a little Olivio spread) and the baked beans. I cut myself off after eating half the ribs and half the dinner roll. I wasn’t hungry anymore and eating the rest would just be me entering into pure gluttony. So, they sit in the refrigerator waiting for someone to eat them.
I also made it a point to get a good bit of water in yesterday so that I am not dehydrating myself. But, I think it’s time to really challenge myself on my water consumption by breaking out the big jug.
The good news in all this is that, I hopped on the scale this morning and was down about 5 lbs since I last weighed in. It’s nowhere near where I need to be but, it’s a start. So, the challenge continues.
