I almost let the day get away from me without posting the progress of my challenge. Well, it went a LOT better today. Meals were sensible. No soda, cakes, gravies or anything else crazy. My wife was kind enough to make calzones, with plenty of veggies. So, my eating today began and ended pretty okay.
But, the thing I am most proud of is that I FINALLY got back into the gym. I did 30 minutes of good cardio and another 30 minutes of weights. Of course, after not lifting for about 2 months, I was feeling it right away. So, it’s going to be quite a challenge for me to get back to where I was with the weights but, hopefully, the climb back won’t be as tough.
However, I am doing all this off about 5 hours of sleep. Being the geek I am, I was up working on website optimizations instead of sleeping so, I was dragging this morning when I got out of bed. I need to challenge myself to get more sleep. For some reason, hitting the sheets at 10pm is almost blasphemous to me. However, I’m sure a big hindrance to my weight loss is my lack of sleep.
Still, I’m going to relish today’s accomplishment and work to make each day of this challenge a little better. I want to be able to say, at the end of the 90 days, that I have developed the habits that will help me take my health to the next level.
No, for tomorrow’s challenge. We’re supposed to be going out to dinner with friends. Lord, give me the strength I need to resist the allure of spare ribs.
