Backing down the calories
Don’t you hate thinking you’re on the right track and then finding out that your understanding of it was all wrong?
One thing that I started on last year was to try to keep better track of my calories. So, I was using an online calorie counter but, as an I.T. worker, I know that bad input data yields bad outputs. Well, my input was wrong.
All this time, I have been blissfully ignorant, thinking that, to lose an average of 1 pound per week, with regular exercise, I would be able to eat 2700 calories a day to reach my goal.
However, it appears that, in actuality, I should be eating closer to 2200 calories.
Aaargh! Do you know what kind of enjoyment came with the extra 500 calories?
Honestly, I should be able to do 2200 calories without starving. For example, I could do a 500-calorie breakfast, a 500-calorie lunch, and 800-calorie dinner and still have 400 calories to snack and stay within my limits.
So, it’s time to change my caloric intake but, I have to be honest — I sure am going to miss those 5oo calories.
